As an accomplished oboist, pianist, composer, conductor, and singer, Mary
has a diverse musical background. At New York University she studied with
acclaimed oboist, Gerard Reuter, Grammy award winner, jazz pianist/composer,
Jim McNeely, composer Justin Dello Joio, and voice teachers, Anne Phillips
and Karen Lykes. As an oboist, she has played at Carnegie Hall several times
and freelances with many orchestras and chamber ensembles in and around
New York City. As a singer, she has performed at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln
Center, The Lamb's Theatre, Symphony Space, Blue Note, Birdland, and Knitting
Factory, and at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and Newark's Prudential Center
with the Rolling Stones for their 50th Anniversary tour with her choir, Ghostlight.
She has conducted and premiered her own compositions in the United States
and Italy, having written works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, big band,
and choir. She is currently the choir director at St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn
and the music director and organist of Teaneck United Methodist Church. Mary
has traveled to Ethiopia and Bulgaria with the Worldwide Orphans Foundation
to work with HIV infected and impoverished children developing a sustainable
music curriculum for them. She has five albums out of her own music available
